Michalina Marcia<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Michalina Marcia is a Research Assistant at Digital Justice Center and a PhD candidate at the Chair of Constitutional Law (Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, University of Wroclaw).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Michalina has been writing her doctoral dissertation on gathering evidence in criminal proceedings with the use of new technologies in the context of a right of defence under the supervision of Professor Mariusz Jab\u0142o\u0144ski.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During her doctoral studies she completed the EDELNet+ PhD Seminar on Empirical Methods of Legal Research funded by the DAAD_IVAC Programme and jointly organized by the FernUniversit\u00e4t Hagen (Germany), the Open Universiteit (Netherlands), the University of Wroclaw (Poland), the Universidad Nacional de Educaci\u00f3n a Distancia (Spain), The Universit\u00e0 di Bologna (Italy), the Open University (UK) and the University of Miskolc (Hungary) from February to June 2021. During the seminar she took part in the research project “Corona and Open Justice” realized under the supervision of Prof. dr. mr. Marijke Malsch, professor of Empirical Legal Studies at Open University Netherlands and senior researcher at the Netherlands Institute for the Study of Crime and Law Enforcement (NSCR). The research aimed to determine the impact of the pandemic on functioning of justice systems, including the comparison between Spanish and Polish legal regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her research interests are focused on the right of defence, acess to lawyer, the influence of new technologies on human rights, as well as the use of surveillance measures and Artificial Intelligence in criminal proceedings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
